School and Community
Cross Creek High School is a suburban school which serves grades 9-12 in the Richmond County School System (RCSS). Cross Creek opened in 1999 to relieve overcrowding at nearby Hephzibah High School and Butler High School, who are archrivals. The school is in its twenty-sixth year of existence and has established itself in the community as one of the top schools in the area. The school has a reputation for having one of the safest learning environments in the system as well as top academic and athletic programs. Student learning is the main priority and is the primary focus of all decisions impacting our school. Each student is a valued individual who learns in different ways and should be provided with a variety of instructional approaches and assessments to support his/her learning.

An official class rank is compiled for each grade that is computed at the end of the year. Averages are carried out to three decimal places and final averages are not rounded. Student’s grade point average (GPA) is based on quality points. Regular high school courses are on a 4.0 scale and Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, and College/University courses are on a 5.0 scale awarded for each grade earned. High school student transcripts include the GPA, class rank, and numerical average.

College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) is Georgia’s statewide accountability system. The CCRPI assesses how well students are prepared for college and careers, and ensures that schools are focused on improving achievement among all students. The index measures student achievement on indicators such as content mastery, student growth on progress, subgroup performance on closing gaps, and various areas including Lexile performance, attendance, and other academic based measurements.
